News: Lady Gaga joins Brian Newman at NYC’s Oak Room

On January 5th, Lady Gaga joined NYC jazz musician Brian Newman onstage at The Plaza Hotel’s Oak Room in Midtown Manhattan. Newman plays weekly Wednesday night sets at the Oak Room between 9 and 11pm, but this time accompanied for a short time by native New Yorker, pop sensation Lady Gaga. The singer was present in the audience with friends, but took the stage towards 11pm to belt out some old classics. Along with Newman and his band, Lady Gaga performed Nat King Cole’s “Orange Colored Sky” and George Gershwin’s “Someone To Watch Over Me” while acting on her signature performance styles and banter. The crowd consisted of regular Plaza Hotel goers, not her fanbase, but as soon as Lady Gaga took the stage, all cameras and camera phones were out.

While Lady Gaga does not pop up every week at the Oak Room, we highly suggest supporting Brian Newman and checking out his local sets.
